Who is Dave Morey?
He was raised in Bushnell, a small rural community in central Illinois and attended St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. At St. Ambrose, he studied under Fr. Edward Catich, a world-renowned calligrapher and artist, as well as Thomas Chouteau, Les Bell and John Schmits.
He currently lives in Rockford, Illinois with his wife Cindy and is the proud father of two grown children, Aaron and Emily.
In his spare time he works in varied mediums including watercolor, egg tempera, pastels and pencil, as well as creating digital images in Photoshop and Illustrator.
Artists who have influenced his art include: Fr. Catich, Émile Bernard, Eric Gill, Paul Gauguin, Salvador Dali, Maurice Denis, Thomas Hart Benton and Diego Rivera.
